Pallet warehouse is a storage where products are stored on pallets. Pallet warehouses are usually found in industrial and commercial enterprises where large quantities of products and materials are stored. The use of this warehouse is becoming more and more common because you can use the available free space.

But before you implement this strategy, you need to make sure that your warehouse is organised. Pallet storage is a promising way to store goods and products neatly and safely. It is a suitable form of storage when goods and products need to be stored in a space-saving and space-optimised manner. Furthermore, if they subsequently have to be transported on pallets. This is the case, for example, with very large and heavy products because they can be moved and transported more easily this way. With this storage, you can keep the aluminium or wooden pallets stacked high in the racking where they can also be easily removed. If you work with palletised materials in your warehouse or production facilities, you will appreciate the various advantages of a pallet storage system. Many industries store their goods on pallets in their facilities. Pallet storage systems enable warehouse workers to store pallets efficiently. The most common systems are:

Advantages of a pallet warehouse:

• Trouble-free storage (no repacking or unpacking) due to uniform base area
• Low risk of theft due to pallet foiling
• Easier control of the goods
• Simpler order processing, as pallets often also serve as order units
• Use in high-bay retail warehouses (e.g. in DIY stores)
• Pallets can be stacked tightly, thus high capacity
• Usually robust and durable, as the pallets themselves are stable

Disadvantages of a pallet warehouse:

• Lack of uniform height regulation makes trouble-free storage difficult
• Storage only possible on pallets
• High demand for conveyors, as goods and products cannot be transported without assistance
• Possibly high costs
