"Online marketing of haulage warehouses works," says Fritz Guckuk from the haulage company Guckuk, who has discovered a new sales channel for himself with the online portal LAGERflaeche.de. The owner-managed company with a long tradition, which was founded in 1951 and has been successfully managed by Fritz Guckuk in the second generation since 1980, has gained a new customer by using the internet service.
"The first responses to our advert on LAGERflaeche.de came in after just two weeks, and a further week later we secured the contract for 500 m² from the enquiries."
The freight forwarder booked the carefree package at LAGERflaeche.de, which, for just under 100 euros a month, provides an offer for free storage space with or without associated logistics services (management) in all major property portals. "Thanks to the included notification service, we were then informed about interested parties by e-mail. That's brilliant," says Mr Guckuk.
"Without quoting specific prices, the provider of the vacant storage space can establish new initial contacts," says Torsten Krauwurst, Product Manager of the portal. "And the qualified initial contact is the basis for any new business," adds Mr Krautwurst.
More than 1,800 customers, including almost 1,000 freight forwarders in German-speaking countries, now use the online portal, which was founded in 2001 and specialises in the business customer segment (B2B) and logistics real estate and offers its services commission-free.
LAGERflaeche.de is the market leader when it comes to warehouse logistics and logistics property, both on the supply side and in terms of searches.
"In 2009 alone, we were able to increase our number of customers by 40 per cent," says Possekel, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf-based operating company LOGvocatus GmbH.

Guckuk Logistik GmbH & Co KG is based in Cologne, where three warehouses are located. Two of the warehouses have a storage area of 8000 square metres each and one warehouse has a storage area of 5000 square metres. Of the 25,000 pallet spaces, 6000 are racked. The open space is 15,000 square metres, of which 5000 square metres can be used as open-air storage. There is another warehouse in Kerpen with an area of 15,000 square metres. In addition, two halls of 1000 square metres each at ramp height are available at the Cologne-Ossendorf site for special order picking business.
The warehouses are serviced up to 24 hours a day, are accessible and suitable for hazardous goods (hazard classes on request). Circulating ramps (100m), 20 industrial trucks and forklift trucks for delivery handling as well as ten long-distance trains and local lorries for shipping - Guckuk Logistik GmbH & Co KG is the right partner when it comes to logistics, warehousing, shipping, picking and packing.
Guckuk can offer customers exactly what they are looking for. Decades of experience and customised solutions enable us to provide tailor-made services. The B2B service portal www.lagerflaeche.de has been active in German-speaking countries since 2001 and is operated by the Düsseldorf-based company Logvovatus GmbH. The managing director is Marc Possekel. Logvocatus GmbH is an owner-managed company specialising in warehouse consulting. The service portfolio includes warehouse optimisation, location analyses and the professional marketing of locations. The company also specialises in tender management for logistics services.
