CTP, Europe's largest listed developer, portfolio holder and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross floor area (GFA), has fully let the former central warehouse of A.T.U Auto-Teile-Unger Handels GmbH & Co. KG (ATU) in Weiden in der Oberpfalz. The tenant is Josef Witt GmbH (Witt), an internationally operating textile trading company based in Weiden. In CTPark Weiden, Witt has rented a modern dispatch warehouse including a photovoltaic system and a newly built warehouse and will utilise approx. 12,500 m² of warehouse space, 221 m² of office space and approx. 3,000 m² of mezzanine space.
The 83,000 m² site at Dr.-Kilian-Straße 12 in Weiden in der Oberpfalz has been owned by CTP since spring 2023. The planned construction measures include a comprehensive revitalisation and refurbishment of the existing buildings. The rental space has a size of around 45,000 m² (warehouse space 43,000 m², office space 2,000 m² and ancillary space), the size of the outdoor warehouse is 8,000 m². The dispatch warehouse is centrally located on the A93 motorway.
Kerstin Harms-Sudarma, Head of Division at Josef Witt GmbH, comments:
"We are delighted to have found a reliable partner in CTP. A decisive factor in the decision in favour of CTPark Weiden was the possibility of centring our storage areas at the Weiden site and thus reducing our internal transport routes. We were also impressed by the innovative sustainability concept of CTP, the specialist for the revitalisation of existing buildings. We are delighted to be able to use the refurbished brownfield site so that no new areas need to be sealed."
In addition to Witt, two local companies, MSA Motor Sport Accessoires GmbH and INOTECH Kunststofftechnik GmbH, had already signed the lease. Sirl Interaktive Logistik GmbH rents the CTP property as Heineken's new distribution centre in Germany. Sirl Interaktive Logistik will use a total area of around 28,000 m² in CTPark Weiden (17,036 m² warehouse, 2,264 m² mezzanine, 8,000 m² outdoor storage, 708 m² office, 20 car and 10 lorry parking spaces), MSA Motor Sport Accessoires will use a total of around 5,700 m² (4,353 m² warehouse, 1,320 m² mezzanine, 25 m² office) and INOTECH Kunststofftechnik will rent a total of around 2,000 m² (1,997 m² warehouse).
Alexander Hund, Managing Director Construction & Development, CTP Germany, said:
"We are delighted that our new park in Weiden is fully let well ahead of completion - a great testament to CTP's track record of delivering outstanding ecosystems that offer a variety of infrastructure and building types to suit a wide range of industry needs. Our latest deal with Josef Witt GmbH confirms the strength of our redevelopment concept at CTPark Weiden and the continued demand for long-term lettable space in the region."
CTP began the redevelopment of the brownfield site in the third quarter of 2023, during which 10,500 m² was demolished. Construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2024, with completion and commencement of use planned for the third quarter of 2024.
