Description of industrial hall

Industrial halls are used for production purposes and are usually made of standardised construction elements that enable rapid assembly. The majority of these large-scale buildings are at ground level, roofed and single-storey. Depending on the company and individual use, the halls can be erected to fit exactly. Materials such as glass, concrete and steel are used. Modern designs not only offer plenty of space for production, they are also cost effective and energy efficient. The spectrum of areas ranges from relatively manageable halls with around 300 square metres to large alternatives with tens of thousands of square metres.

The planning of the hall construction is of elementary importance. After all, the requirements for the production areas, such as ventilation, floor plan, soundproofing or insulation, differ markedly depending on the industry. A chemical company, for example, has completely different requirements for an industrial hall than a consumer goods manufacturer. In addition, there are official requirements and legal regulations (e.g. fire protection) that must be observed. Specialised companies are often commissioned to build new buildings using the system construction method. In order to be able to use as much of the floor space as possible for business operations later on, self-supporting support systems are installed.

Purchase and rental prices are influenced by several factors such as location, condition, size and individual equipment (insulation, dimensions, roller doors, etc.). Prices can vary considerably due to the diversity. New halls with a corresponding area quickly cost several hundred thousand euros.

Areas of application for industrial halls

Industrial halls are used in particular in commercial and industrial areas of municipalities and cities. However, thanks to low maintenance costs, the good location and the size, industrial halls are also used for cultural purposes. Outdated unused industrial halls are often turned into locations for fun sports or converted into discotheques.

Mobile industrial halls are a special form. They are usually made of lightweight aluminium and can be erected in a few days due to their ease of construction. Mobile industrial halls can be either bought or rented. Industrially oriented companies like to use them for the short-term provision of additional production space or for the temporary storage of goods.
