CTP, Europe's largest listed owner, developer and manager of logistics and industrial property, welcomes vombaur GmbH and Co. KG as a new tenant at CTPark Wuppertal. The textile company will use around 8,746 square metres of production, office and social space at the business park. Initially, vombaur will produce high-quality technical textiles in the CTPark with around 90 employees. However, the production rooms and facilities are already designed to meet the future requirements of the growing company.

The new tenant vombaur is a textile weaver specialising in technical narrow fabrics for filter, composite and other industrial solutions and is part of the Textation Group. The family-run company has been based in Wuppertal since it was founded almost 220 years ago, and the branch in the CTPark means it will remain in the area. The move marks the start of a high-tech textile cluster in the city.

"We chose this location because we can realise our growth targets here. We will bundle the Textation Group's weaving expertise here with 150 weaving machines. We want to use the increased visibility in this central business park to attract more skilled workers to us. We would like to thank CTP for the excellent cooperation," says Patrick Kielholz, Managing Director of vombaur GmbH & Co KG.

Modern facilities for historic spaces

CTPark Wuppertal offers a total of around 100,000 square metres of usable space on a site measuring approximately 155,000 square metres. Some of the halls are equipped with a sprinkler and fire alarm system, double-glazed windows and LED lighting. A photovoltaic system yet to be installed will supply the entire property with CO2-neutral green electricity. The areas are heated in a climate and environmentally friendly way using a state-of-the-art heat pump, and electric charging stations are also available throughout the property. With these measures, CTP is aiming for DGNB Gold certification.

CTP is realising the park on the historic site of the former Schaeffler production facility. As part of the development, the company is honouring the industrial history by demolishing some of the old buildings and replacing them with new ones, while retaining others as part of a refurbishment. For example, the shed roof hall that vombaur will use, including the associated high-bay warehouse, dates back to 1942 and, together with a crane hall and villa, is to be listed as a historical monument and remain in place. CTP is modernising the historic existing space and converting it to meet the requirements of the new tenant.

Well-connected in the business location of Wuppertal

With a population of just under 360,000, Wuppertal is the largest city in the Bergisches Land region of North Rhine-Westphalia. As an industrial and economic centre, it has excellent transport connections. The A46 and A535 motorways are just two minutes away from CTPark Wuppertal, while the A1 and A3 motorways are just five minutes away. The nearest public transport connection is a bus stop just two minutes' walk from the site. in 2025, a centrally located café with a roastery on the site will also provide convenient local amenities. Further catering space is planned on the site for 2026.

"With CTP as the new owner and project developer, an experienced and renowned company is working together with the city on an attractive utilisation concept that aims to set architectural and labour market trends. For us as a city, it was important that no wasteland or speculative property is created here. In CTP, we have found a professional partner for the site preparation and further development," says Lord Mayor Uwe Schneidewind.

CTP's modernisation and construction work will continue until August 2025. vombaur will move into the space in September 2025, with the go-live planned for early 2026.

"With CTPark Wuppertal, we are bringing a historic site up to date, both in terms of facilities and sustainability. We are benefiting from close, pleasant cooperation with the building authority, the economic development agency and the mayor," says Timo Hielscher, Managing Director M&A at CTP Germany. "As a traditional Wuppertal company, we can offer vombaur an attractive location with excellent growth opportunities. We would like to thank them for their professional cooperation and look forward to a successful tenancy."
