
Alpha Industrial and Bohnen Logistik: Handover of the Kamp-Lintfort business park on schedule
Bergheim / Kamp-Lintfort, September 25, 2023 - Real estate investor and project developer Alpha Industrial has handed over the approximately 20,000 m² energy-efficient building at Vinnmannsweg 1 in Kamp-Lintfort to Bohnen Logistik GmbH, a duisport Group company, on schedule.
The keys to the business park, which was built to the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and largely dispenses with the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, were handed over on time in September 2023 after ten months of construction. The business park will remain the property of Alpha Industrial and will be managed by the company's own asset management team.
“The construction process for this ESG-compliant new building, which uses air-source heat pumps for cooling and heating in addition to other measures, was very relaxed for everyone involved. We would like to thank the building authorities in Kamp-Lintfort for their constructive cooperation, as well as our tenant Bohnen,” reports Ulrich Wörner, Managing Director of Alpha Industrial.

In particular, the open and regular communication at all times accelerated numerous processes and simplified cooperation. With the new warehouse in Kamp-Lintfort, we have not only received a modern and sustainable building based on the Gold Standard, but this location also forms the basis for a scalable expansion of our service portfolio,” adds Volker Grzybowski, also Managing Director of Bohnen Logistik GmbH.
With the planting period in the fall, the more than 11,000 m² of green areas on the 43,000 m² site will be laid out, including a native meadow orchard and a barbecue area with a green oasis for the employees.
The photovoltaic system on the roof, which was announced at the start of construction, has already been installed and, according to Alpha Industrial, will be expanded during the rental period. The project developer is already in talks with potential operators for this.
“The city of Kamp-Lintfort impresses with its immediate proximity to the port of Duisburg and its good access to the Benelux axis. It is increasingly becoming part of one of the most important European hubs. As a university town, it also offers good employee potential from various levels of education. For these reasons, we would like to continue investing in modern real estate developments here in the future. We are very interested in acquiring a plot of land or a disused brownfield site in order to create further sustainable, future-oriented space for retail companies, manufacturers and logistics providers,” announced Ulrich Wörner.
“Warehouse capacities are and will remain in demand. They are becoming increasingly important, particularly with regard to the design for storing hazardous materials, creating oases for employees to spend time in and sustainable construction methods overall,” explains Jan Billhardt, Transaction Manager at Alpha Industrial Developers GmbH.
