The pfenning Group is further expanding its logistics network and is building the new multicube münsterland in Ladbergen, directly at the site of its subsidiary Oelrich Logistics. With an expansion of the logistics area by 20,000 m² to a total of 37,000 m², the pfenning Group is focusing on a future-oriented and sustainable logistics concept.

The future logistics centre is already the pfenning Group's second brownfield project and is being built on a site that has been owned by the Oelrich family since 1950. As part of the construction work, outdated buildings were demolished to create space for modern and sustainable logistics structures. A comprehensive land survey was carried out in advance in order to design the construction in an ecologically responsible manner.

The new logistics centre called multicube münsterland will also be operated by Oelrich Logistics in the future, with the bimodal connection to the port of Westladbergen on the Dortmund-Ems Canal opening up new logistics opportunities for other customer segments. The laying of the foundation stone on 16 October 2024 was celebrated together with invited guests. "With this expansion, we are creating innovative solutions that will enable our customers to master their logistical challenges efficiently. We are also delighted to be working with the pfenning Group to further exploit the advantages of the multicube construction method," emphasised Martin Oelrich, Managing Director of Oelrich Logistics.

Rana Matthias Nag, CEO of the pfenning Group, added: "The construction of the multicube münsterland is an important step towards strengthening our market position. Together with Oelrich Logistics, we offer advanced and sustainable logistics solutions that fulfil the highest technological standards." The mayor of the municipality of Ladbergen, Torsten Buller, was also delighted with the project: "The construction of the logistics centre is not only a significant milestone for the pfenning Group and the Oelrich family, but also a great benefit for the entire region. The new building will secure jobs and further strengthen Ladbergen as a location for sustainable logistics solutions."

About the pfenning Group:

The pfenning Group is a full-service provider of supply chain solutions for German SMEs from the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. Managed by the third and fourth generation of the Pfenning family, the company can look back on 125 years of logistics experience and employs 7,000 people at 110 locations in Germany, Poland, Hungary and Sweden. With a fleet of 1,000 lorries and a total storage area of 1 million m², the company is the strong backbone for its customers' logistics and is ranked 55th out of 60,000 logistics service providers in Germany in the "Top 100 Logistics" study. Since May 2023, the company has been ranked 18th out of 10,000 German family businesses with a total turnover of up to 1 billion euros, according to "Die Deutsche Wirtschaft".

The Heddesheim-based group of companies has continuously expanded its product portfolio. State-of-the-art warehousing and transport solutions are accompanied by a wide range of value-added services, from plant security and metal construction to property development. The pfenning Group is one of Germany's leading service providers in the nationwide retail supply sector. But other sectors also rely on the expertise of the Heddesheim-based company: several special warehouses have been built and put into operation for the chemical, automotive, FMCG, food and pharmaceutical industries. The company has acquired further expertise through strategic acquisitions in the areas of fashion logistics and e-commerce for consumer and medical technology goods. It supplies solutions that ensure stable merchandise management cycles, guarantee an excellent price-performance ratio and pave the way for market success.

Four decades of experience form the foundation on which pioneering property projects are realised. With the multicube rhein-neckar, pfenning logistics developed an innovative, multi-award-winning multi-user concept in 2012 that offers space for individual forms of use and sustainable requirements. This success story has been continued with the multicube rheinhessen since 2018. Both logistics centres are among the top 10 industrial buildings in Europe to have been awarded DGNB Platinum. Based on this model, pfenning logistics has been building up to 300,000 m² of qualified warehouse capacity in Germany and Europe since 2022. For short-term requirements, pfenning logistics offers the Europe-wide logistics service concept "WAREhouses+", which is available at several transport hubs, including Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Rhine-Main and Wroclaw.

The pfenning Group's corporate philosophy is based on responsibility, commitment and trust. These values guide the team in its daily business. The focus is on transparency, openness and honesty - so that individual and pragmatic solutions can be developed efficiently and flexibly.
