Logistics specialist Mader expands collaboration with medical technology manufacturer Becton Dickinson at its Heidelberg site
Ansbach/Heidelberg, 10 December 2024 - Contract logistics provider Mader Logistik GmbH, headquartered in Ansbach, has expanded its range of medical technology services for long-standing customer Becton Dickinson GmbH at its multi-user site in Heidelberg.
Becton Dickinson GmbH is part of the international medical technology group BD, headquartered in New Jersey, USA, which develops, produces and distributes disposable medical products, device systems and reagents with around 70,000 employees worldwide.
As part of the expansion of production, Becton Dickinson GmbH has commissioned Johann Mader Lager GmbH with the storage of raw, production and packaging materials and the delivery of semi-finished products to the plant via shuttle lorries. The contract also includes the connection of Mader's warehouse management system to Becton Dickinson's ERP system. The interfaces include incoming and outgoing goods.
"We have a very good partnership with Mader, which is based in our immediate neighbourhood," comments Wolfgang Krauter, Logistics Manager at Becton Dickinson GmbH.
"We value the expertise of the company and its motivated employees in logistics for medical technology, the flexibility and the associated solution expertise," adds Tobias Böhm, Supply Chain Manager at Becton Dickinson GmbH.
"The implementation of the project is almost complete. We are now moving several hundred pallets a day for Becton Dickinson and our lorries are working at full capacity. We are very pleased about the expansion of the business relationship," explains Juergen Behr, authorised signatory and branch manager of the Mader Group in Heidelberg.
By taking over the activities of Becton Dickinson, the Mader Group is strengthening its position as a contract service provider for medical technology. In addition to Heidelberg, the Mader Group is also active in the medical technology sector (load carrier recycling management) at its Nuremberg site.
