Start of construction at MLP Business Park Schalke

 
The MLP Group is starting construction work on the MLP Business Park Schalke. The sustainable multi-user business park with over 72,000 m² of rental space is being built on the site of the former Thyssen wire works and is specially designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized companies.

The MLP Group, a developer, owner and manager of high-quality commercial, industrial and logistics parks specialising in brownfield sites, is starting construction work on the MLP Business Park Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The modern business park is being built in Schalke-Nord on the site of the former Thyssen wire works, which has been largely derelict in recent years. In close co-operation with the city of Gelsenkirchen, modern areas are being created there that are particularly suitable for the settlement of small and medium-sized companies. The Bremer construction company is acting as general contractor.

Sustainable concept for future-proof commercial space

The new property will make a positive contribution to urban development by supporting the objectives of the Integrated Development Concept (IEK) Schalke-Nord and helping to upgrade the neighbourhood. On the approximately 120,000 m² site, it will offer a total of over 72,000 m² of flexibly divisible rental space and fulfils the high sustainability standards of the MLP Group. The buildings will be constructed in a resource-saving manner and will have spacious office and social areas as well as attractive green spaces for breaks and meeting zones.

Start of construction as an important milestone

The first halls with around 30,000 m² of rental space are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2025.
