Prologis secures strategically located site in Pforzheim for logistics development

Düsseldorf, 20 February 2025 - Prologis has acquired a 110,970 square metre industrial site in Pforzheim. The plan is to revitalise the brownfield site and develop a modern, future-proof logistics property with around 60,000 square metres of usable space. This approach will sustainably upgrade the already developed site.

The region of south-west Germany is one of the most sought-after logistics locations in Germany. Logistics space is in short supply there and demand remains high. Pforzheim is conveniently located on the A8 motorway between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe and offers companies good connections to central sales markets and international supply chains. The high population density and strong purchasing power make the region even more attractive and create strong demand for well-connected logistics space.

The site was used for decades as a warehouse and logistics centre for K-Mail Order GmbH & Co. The site has been vacant since spring 2024. Now the site is to be developed with a new utilisation perspective and reintegrated into the region's economic infrastructure.

The city of Pforzheim welcomes the redevelopment of this important logistics site. "The planned redevelopment strengthens Pforzheim as a business location and opens up new opportunities for companies," says Peter Boch, Lord Mayor of Pforzheim. "With Prologis as an experienced property developer, the site will be given a new perspective. We are looking forward to the collaboration and the positive development for Pforzheim."

ImmobilienSparkasse Pforzheim Calw and Falkensteg Real Estate were exclusively mandated by the self-administration of K-Mail Order GmbH & Co KG (main company of the group) with the sale of the property.
