Second location for pharmaceutical full-service provider opened: Panattoni ceremoniously hands over MSK Bensheim II

On 20 September, the MSK Pharma Group and Panattoni celebrated the completion and handover of the custom-made and state-of-the-art logistics property MSK Bensheim II. Around 200 guests attended, including numerous representatives from politics, business and administration – a strong sign of the importance of the project in the region.

The new building was designed by Panattoni as a build-to-suit property and was completed within nine months. The approximately 11,300 m² of warehouse, 1,350 m² of office space and 380 m² of mezzanine space will be used in the future as a GDP and GMP-certified company for pharmaceutical wholesale and logistics of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. For this purpose, the building and the approx. 28,740 m² site have been professionally equipped, including partial waterproofing in accordance with water hazard class III. For existing and new employees, the location offers an ideal workplace thanks to its modern equipment to promote MSK's values of progress, appreciation and community. With MSK Bensheim II, the MSK Pharma Group is creating a future-oriented basis for its continuing growth in business – with capacities for 25,000 pallet spaces and 10,000 picking stations in the temperature range of 15 to 25 °C.

"The opening of MSK Bensheim II marks a significant milestone for us as a family-run company on the way to sustainable growth and long-term responsibility," says Simon Heß, Managing Partner at MSK Pharma Group. "The new location strengthens our position as a full-service provider for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and underlines our close ties to the region. We are proud to actively promote the local economy. Together with our employees and partners, we are building an efficient infrastructure for the healthcare of tomorrow."

Sustainability as a guiding principle

The project includes modern technical equipment, including fossil-free heating with VRF technology and heat pumps, photovoltaic pre-installation on a roof area of around 10,000 m² and e-charging stations. A special focus is on nature and species conservation: In addition to green roofs and a wildflower meadow with an insect hotel and nesting aids for birds, the tree population has been largely preserved in accordance with the trees worthy of protection in the development plan. The reuse of rainwater to irrigate the green spaces promotes an ecological use of natural resources. In order to enable the natural return of rainwater to the ground, a permeable pavement was also used in the area of the car parking spaces. There is a well-being area for the well-being of employees. MSK Bensheim II was built sustainably and is therefore certified according to the criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council. The DGNB Gold Certificate is being sought. The property also undergoes ESG verification against the EU taxonomy in order to provide transparent and verifiable proof of its sustainability performance.

Successful partnership with future prospects

The ceremonial handover of MSK Bensheim II marks a milestone in the cooperation between Panattoni and MSK Pharma Group. "This is already the second build-to-suit property that we have realised for MSK in Bensheim," says Stefan Bohn, Managing Director Panattoni Germany. "In January, we will start with the third project, MSK Bensheim III. The trust that the company places in us is both an honour and an incentive for us. Together with MSK, the city of Bensheim and the Bergstraße district, we are not just creating real estate here, but sustainable added value for the entire region."

The timely realisation of the project is not least due to this close cooperation with the city and state. Bensheim's first city councillor Nicole Rauber-Jung explains: "This project is a win for everyone involved - for the companies that can grow here and for the people in our city who benefit from new jobs and sustainable development."

Christian Engelhardt, District Administrator of the Bergstraße district, also praises the location: "Bensheim II once again strengthens the Bergstraße economic region and sets an impressive example for growth and innovation. The interaction between companies, district, municipality, economic development and project developers has worked in an exemplary manner here."

After the official speeches, MSK hosted a summer and family party, where employees and invited guests celebrated the successful completion of the project. Culinary offers, games and activities for children ensured a relaxed end to the day.
