Nagel-Group strengthens its presence in Poland: State-of-the-art logistics complex planned in Zabrze
Hamburg / Zabrze, 29.11.2024. Nagel-Group, one of Europe's leading food logistics companies, is expanding its infrastructure in Poland: In Zabrze, an industrial city in the heart of Silesia, a state-of-the-art service and logistics complex will be put into operation from the second half of 2025.
With a total area of over 30,000 m², the new site will set new standards in terms of efficiency, sustainability and convenience for employees. The site comprises a spacious warehouse with a 9,500 m² cross-docking area, complemented by 2,600 m² of modern office space. An additional area on the mezzanine floor allows goods to be packaged in order to respond flexibly to specific customer requirements. The temperature ranges of 0 to 18 degrees Celsius offer optimum conditions for handling and storing a wide range of products.
Focus on sustainable construction and energy efficiency
The new branch in Zabrze sets standards in terms of sustainability. A 2,500 kWp photovoltaic system on the roof covers a large part of the facility's electricity requirements and significantly reduces the carbon footprint. This concept is complemented by energy-efficient cooling systems and modern LED lighting, which minimise energy consumption. The charging points for electric vehicles also emphasise the project's environmentally friendly approach.
The building combines functionality with aesthetic design: the timeless and modern architecture creates a pleasant working environment that focuses on the comfort and well-being of employees.
"The new site in Zabrze is another important step in our modernisation programme. Innovative and sustainable property solutions such as this are essential for future-proofing our logistics processes and conserving resources," explains Carsten Taucke, CEO of Nagel-Group.
Strategic advantage in Zabrze
Zabrze, located in the metropolitan region of Silesia with almost two million inhabitants, offers ideal connections to the main European transport routes.
"With the new branch, we are not only strengthening our presence in Poland, but also creating a key position for the flow of goods to the whole of Europe. We are thus further expanding our network and creating the basis for even more efficient logistics solutions," adds Carsten Taucke.
Around 170 employees will start working in Zabrze from the second half of 2025. Nagel-Group is thus reaffirming its strategic focus on the sustainable and efficient further development of food logistics across Europe.
Partnership with LemonTree
The project is being realised in cooperation with the Polish property investor LemonTree.
"With LemonTree, we have a strong partner at our side who shares our vision of a future-oriented logistics location," says André Pleines, Executive Director Real Estate at Nagel-Group.
