Nagel-Group opens new logistics centre in Gotha/Emleben
Gotha/Emleben, 01.10.2025. The Nagel-Group has taken over its new logistics centre in Gotha/Emleben, Thuringia. With around 21,000 m² of state-of-the-art logistics space, the company is expanding its network in Central Germany and strengthening its performance in temperature-controlled food logistics. Operations will start on 01.10.2025.
The property was built by OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH and meets the highest sustainability standards. DGNB Gold certification and EU taxonomy-compliant implementation are planned. The energy concept includes air-to-water heat pumps and a photovoltaic system of around 8,800 m², which saves up to 870 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
Ralph Holeschovsky, branch manager of OFB in Erfurt, explains: "With the handover to the Nagel-Group, we are completing a project that ideally combines sustainability, functionality and cost-effectiveness. We are proud to be able to make a further contribution to strengthening Gotha/Emleben as a logistics location."
André Pleines, Executive Director Real Estate at the Nagel-Group, adds: "With the new logistics centre, we have state-of-the-art storage and handling facilities for temperature-sensitive food. The sustainable construction method and the innovative technology not only ensure efficient processes for us, but also make a contribution to climate protection in the region."
The new building will not only create additional jobs in the region, but also a modern infrastructure for efficient logistics processes. The direct connection to the A4 motorway and the location in the Thuringia logistics cluster offer ideal conditions for this. The Nagel-Group is thus further expanding its presence in the district of Gotha and is now represented there with three branches.
