Gebrüder Weiss: ‘Here to stay’

New logistics hall opened in Aldingen / CargoLine network partner / Strengthening of general cargo transport brings benefits for the region
Lauterach / Aldingen, 11 July 2025. Gebrüder Weiss is clearly committed to the Aldingen region: With a new 4,000 square metre logistics hall and a modern office building, the international logistics service provider is doubling its capacity at its site in the Nagelsee industrial park.
During a grand opening ceremony on 11 July, Wolfram Senger-Weiss and Jürgen Bauer, both members of the management board, officially handed over the new facility. ‘The expansion in Aldingen is a clear commitment to the region,’ emphasises Wolfram Senger-Weiss. ‘We have established ourselves as a proven partner to the regional economy in recent years – and we are definitely here to stay.’
The background to this statement is Swiss Post Cargo's announced withdrawal from the German general cargo business in the autumn. From 1 October 2025, Gebrüder Weiss will take over the connection to the general cargo network as a franchise partner in the Europe-wide CargoLine network. ‘This will maintain access to the Germany-wide general cargo network for regional companies – without any disadvantages for the local economy,’ says Jürgen Bauer.
A reliable partner between the Black Forest and Lake Constance
Yvonne Reichardt, site manager in Aldingen, also emphasised the good cooperation with local companies: ‘In the area between the Black Forest and Lake Constance, we have established ourselves as a reliable logistics partner thanks to personal relationships and customer proximity.’ Currently, around 70 employees in Aldingen ensure that everything runs smoothly. The company expects around 300,000 shipments in 2026. Its customers include well-known companies from the mechanical and plant engineering, automotive, and ventilation and air conditioning sectors.
Sustainable expansion with vision

During the construction of the new facility, great importance was attached to ecological standards. A photovoltaic system installed on the roof will generate around 390,000 kilowatt hours of environmentally friendly electricity per year. This will be used directly for electric-powered transport vehicles, trucks and cars, as well as for air conditioning in the building. According to the company, the latest investments in the expansion and modernisation of the site amount to around 9 million euros. Gebrüder Weiss operates throughout Germany with 1,250 employees at 20 locations.
