Since the beginning of the year, Gebrüder Weiss has been offering partial and full truck loads (LTL / FTL) as well as extended logistics solutions in addition to air and sea freight / Poland continues to gain importance as a logistics centre for goods transport in Europe
Krakow / Lauterach, 25 February 2025: Gebrüder Weiss is further expanding its transport and logistics services in Poland: Since the beginning of 2025, the international logistics company has also been offering its customers national and international part and full truck loads (LTL / FTL) as well as other warehousing and logistics solutions, including order picking of goods. Companies can track their consignments in real time via the myGW customer portal and have all documents available digitally. The new services complement the existing logistics services as well as air and sea freight services that Gebrüder Weiss has been offering since 2020. The team will thus grow to 70 employees.
"Our goal is to offer companies in Poland a first-class and comprehensive logistics service," emphasises René Stranz, Area Manager Slovakia and Poland at Gebrüder Weiss. "With the combination of different modes of transport, our customers will be able to react even more flexibly to market requirements in future and organise their supply chains more efficiently." Within Europe, Poland has developed into a sought-after production and storage location. Thanks to rising consumer spending, the economy grew three times faster than the EU average in 2024. Poland is an important trading partner and export market for German companies in particular, but also for imports from Asia and the USA. At the same time, the transport infrastructure is being continuously expanded, including a new major airport with an international freight centre.
Gebrüder Weiss currently has locations in Krakow, Wrocław, Gdynia and Warsaw in Poland. Customers mainly come from the high-tech, automotive, consumer goods and e-commerce sectors. For companies in the pharmaceutical industry, the logistics specialist handles not only transport but also the storage and order picking of pharmaceuticals that require special refrigeration. In order to optimise its customers' supply chains even more comprehensively, the logistics specialist is also planning to expand its offering as a lead logistics provider in the medium term. "Depending on economic developments, additional locations are also possible," says Maciej Szczyglowski, Country Manager Poland Land & Logistics at Gebrüder Weiss. "For example in Wroclaw or Katowice, where we can imagine new logistics terminals."
