FERCAM takes over the forwarding company LIC
Opening of a new LIC by FERCAM branch in Troisdorf
[Bolzano, 28 January 2025] The freight forwarding company LIC by FERCAM (formerly LIC - Spedition und Containerlogistik) further expanded its presence on 1 January 2025 with the opening of a new branch in Troisdorf. This development is the result of a strategic acquisition that the South Tyrolean logistics company FERCAM started in 2022 with a 51% stake in LIC, which was increased to 75% in 2023 to finally complete the full takeover at the end of 2024.
Specialist for global markets
LIC by FERCAM, formerly LIC, headquartered in Stuhr near Bremen, is a global company operating primarily in the project cargo sector with a particular specialisation in special transports of large machines and cranes, especially for the construction industry. These are exported worldwide, with the main markets being in the USA (with a focus on New York), Canada, Australia, South America, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and South East Asia.
LIC was founded in 1993 as a family business by Managing Director Klaus Warnecke and has since continued to develop with the establishment of branches in Hamburg, Bremen and Würzburg. With the opening of the new LIC By FERCAM branch in Troisdorf at the beginning of January, the company is further expanding its reach and expertise in the German market.
"With the acquisition completed at the end of the year, we have taken over all operational business, and we very much appreciate the fact that we can continue to count on the valuable experience of all LIC employees at the headquarters in Stuhr and in the branches," explains Peter Stadtmann, Managing Director of LIC by FERCAM.
"This acquisition underlines our growth strategy, primarily in the cargo project sector, and strengthens our territorial presence and expertise," concludes Peter Stadtmann.

Strong synergies through FERCAM
LIC by FERCAM will remain organisationally separate from the parent company FERCAM, but the acquisition will give the FERCAM Group access to a global network and create valuable synergies, particularly with the FERCAM organisations in India (Delhi and Kolkata).
LIC by FERCAM offers its customers tailor-made project cargo solutions - from planning and organisation to packaging and customs formalities.
