CTP, Europe's largest listed owner, developer and portfolio holder of logistics and industrial real estate, announces the start of demolition work on the future CTPark Aachen. On the site in the north-eastern industrial area of the city of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, a modern business park with a total lettable area of around 45,000 m² is being built for companies in the light industrial sector.
To this end, the developer is revitalising the area of the former glass plant of Vetrotech Kinon, developer and manufacturer of fire protection and high-security glass, and is gradually demolishing the existing buildings. In the course of the project, several halls and a multi-storey car park are to fill the area with new life. In the first construction phase, approx. 15,000 m² of rental space will be created for this purpose, followed by two further construction phases totalling 8,500 m².
CTP is also taking into account the aspect of sustainability for the project, with a focus on a fossil-free energy supply for the property. For this purpose, the installation of a PV system is planned, and green roofs are also to actively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the preservation of species protection.
"We are very pleased that the demolition work for the new business park has begun. The project strengthens Aachen's economic sustainability, creates new jobs and increases local value creation. We are looking forward to continuing our cooperation with CTP," comments Dieter M. Begaß, Head of Economic Development of the City of Aachen.
Thanks to its central location, CTPark Aachen has excellent transport connections with access to the A4 and A44 motorways, the B57 federal highway and also connections to Cologne, Düsseldorf, Belgium and the Netherlands. With two access points, it is easily accessible for both passenger and freight traffic. The area is home to a mix of commercial and industrial businesses and is characterized by its good public transport connections to Aachen city center.
"With the start of the demolition work, we are taking the first decisive step for the realization of CTPark Aachen. Our focus is on sustainably revitalizing the former industrial site and thus creating urgently needed space for modern use – without sealing off new green spaces. Close coordination with local residents is a key success factor. We would like to thank the city of Aachen for the constructive and cooperative cooperation," explains Christian Schröttle, Construction Director for the West Region at CTP Germany.
CTP plans to complete CTPark Aachen at the beginning of 2027.
