Contorion and Fiege extend their partnership ahead of schedule
The Fiege Group has extended the existing logistics contract with Contorion ahead of schedule and on a long-term basis. The digital specialist retailer for professional tools and workshop supplies will continue to rely on the logistics expertise of the more than 150-year-old family business from Greven, Westphalia, in the future.
Greven/Berlin, 23 September 2025 — Long-term planning security: The online tool retailer Contorion will continue its successful cooperation with Fiege in the future. The contract logistics expert has been handling e-commerce fulfillment for Contorion at its location in Greven-Reckenfeld since 2019. At the beginning of 2024, Fiege put an Autostore with 75,000 boxes and 34 robots into operation for its customer in order to increase product availability and throughput. With the new contract, both companies are committing to their long-term partnership ahead of time.
Mateusz Swist, Senior Vice President Operations at Contorion, explains: "As a digital retailer, Contorion offers one of the largest ranges of professional tools, workshop equipment and consumables that can be found online. In order to ensure maximum customer satisfaction, it is crucial, especially in e-commerce fulfillment, to process even short-term orders and peaks reliably and quickly. Together with Fiege, we have developed a high-performance logistics system with which we can offer our customers special USPs such as same-day shipment." Fiege serves the German, Austrian and French markets for Contorion. "We are pleased that we have now created the necessary planning security for the continuous development of our partnership through the early extension of the contract," says Swist.
In addition to the Autostore, Fiege's logistics concept includes an AI-based robot arm from Nomagic, which is connected to one of the eleven Autostore ports and supports the employees in picking the retrieved goods. Also connected is a fully automatic packaging machine that cuts the packaging material individually to the respective shipment and thus reduces material consumption. Meike Schmidt-Krenz, Managing Director of Fiege's Consumer Products business unit, says: "Our primary goal as a service provider is to continuously optimise performance and savings potential for our customers and to continuously improve logistics processes. From the very beginning, the good cooperation with Contorion has been based on very open communication at eye level, which enables us to tackle and master challenges together. We are pleased that Contorion will continue to rely on us as a reliable partner in the future."
