Industry expertise convinces: the Noerpel Group is expanding its activities in building materials logistics. Since July 2026, Noerpel has been handling transport and logistics services for the construction chemicals manufacturer Saint-Gobain Weber. At its headquarters in Ulm, Noerpel manages warehousing, logistics and distribution for southern Germany.

Logistics solutions for the building materials industry are complex: construction chemicals demand the highest safety standards, and the goods are often particularly heavy or bulky, which makes both packaging and loading challenging. Distribution is demanding as well: supplying construction sites reliably requires precise delivery windows, and the delivery vehicles usually need a tail lift or an on-board forklift.
For the Noerpel Group, these special industry requirements have long been part of everyday business: for many years, the service provider has handled numerous customer projects in chemical and building materials logistics. “This know-how has made us an expert for the building materials industry,” says Lucas Noerpel-Schneider, Board Member of the Noerpel Group. “We are delighted to support Saint-Gobain Weber in the future with our experience in building materials logistics and to implement the individual logistics concept.”
Convincing location concept
The logistics hub for the new customer project is Noerpel's headquarters in Ulm. New goods from Weber arrive here every day, and Noerpel stores around 200 different items. Typical products include tile adhesive, floor levelling compounds and waterproofing products, and many are classified as hazardous or water-polluting substances. “The goods are stored on around 2,000 pallets in a specially secured hazardous goods area directly beneath our transshipment hall,” explains Lucas Noerpel-Schneider. “From there, we transport them by pallet conveyor straight up for further processing.”
This warehouse concept is a key building block for efficient processes, low damage rates and the late cut-off times that the customer values highly. Noerpel also meets Weber's wish for more sustainability in the supply chain with this solution, because the goods are immediately available and pre-carriage is no longer necessary. At the same time, Noerpel reduces CO2 emissions in distribution through the shortest possible delivery routes and by avoiding empty kilometres.
Demanding goods structure
For the Noerpel team, the challenge in order picking and loading lies in the nature of the goods: very different items – sacks, buckets and small parts – have to be stowed well on the pallets. When stacking, the weight must be observed closely: a bag of building material weighs 25 kilograms, while the packaging is rather delicate. To protect the products from sub-zero temperatures, Noerpel uses additional thermal packaging when needed.
From Ulm, Noerpel handles distribution to large parts of southern Germany and neighbouring regions of Austria. Recipients include construction sites and craft businesses as well as DIY stores and specialist retailers. Deliveries to construction sites and DIY stores in particular are usually made just in time.
“With industry experience and specific product knowledge, we were able to create a logistics concept that fits the customer exactly, and we work together very trustfully,” says Lucas Noerpel-Schneider. “Together with Saint-Gobain Weber, we want to take on further projects in the future and intensify the very good partnership.”
