Lauterach, March 9, 2026. The international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss closed the 2025 financial year with net sales of 2.73 billion euros, slightly above the previous year's level (2024: 2.71 billion euros). Despite the subdued economy in Europe, the company gained market share and increased its productivity at the same time.

"The economic environment in 2025 was challenging – especially in our Central European core markets. The fact that we nevertheless grew slightly and were able to continue investing at the same time shows the performance and financial strength of our organization," says Wolfram Senger-Weiss, Chairman of the Executive Board of Gebrüder Weiss. "Europe remains the backbone of our business and the focus of our investments. At the same time, we are taking advantage of opportunities in global growth markets to strategically develop our network."

As in the previous year, the equity ratio was over 60 percent, confirming the company's solid financial basis. The number of employees remained unchanged at around 8,600 (2024: 8,600).

In the Europe land transport sector, Gebrüder Weiss generated a slight increase in sales of 1.55 billion euros (2024: 1.52 billion euros). Although sales in Germany declined slightly, Gebrüder Weiss gained market share there. The logistics company also expanded its position in Eastern Europe. The home delivery business also benefited from this, growing again with 1.36 million deliveries (2024: 1.31 million).

In the Air & Sea segment, the volumes transported increased, especially on the Asia-Europe routes and in intra-Asian trade. In air freight, volumes increased especially in the e-commerce business between China and Europe. Due to lower air and ocean freight rates, revenue of EUR 913 million was slightly below the previous year's figure (2024: EUR 929 million).

Gebrüder Weiss also recorded growth in the logistics sector: Revenue in contract logistics and supply chain management rose by seven percent to 147 million euros. In supply chain management, the company develops customer-specific concepts and uses data-based analyses to efficiently control and optimize supply chains.

DPD Austria, in which Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst is a co-shareholder, also recorded growth: the number of parcels transported rose to 64.6 million – an increase of 3.6 percent compared to the previous year (2024: 62.3 million).

Investments strengthen efficiency and network

Gebrüder Weiss continued its expansion strategy in 2025. In Southeast Asia, the company founded new national subsidiaries in Thailand and the Philippines. The acquisition of a majority stake in Sienzi Lojistik strengthened customs and warehouse logistics in Istanbul (Turkey). In North America, the new site in Phoenix, Arizona, supports growth in one of the company's key core markets.

In Europe, Gebrüder Weiss invested in the expansion of existing branches, including in Zagreb (Croatia), Aldingen (Baden-Württemberg) and Wels (Upper Austria); in Salzburg, the expansion of the location began. With the commissioning of the new logistics and IT center in Wolfurt (Vorarlberg) at the end of 2025, a central infrastructure project was also completed. The fully automated high-bay warehouse combines modern logistics processes with high-performance IT systems and high sustainability standards.

In total, the investment sum in 2025 amounted to 146 million euros, around 16 percent higher than in the previous year (2024: 126 million euros). In addition to the expansion of the network, the funds flowed primarily into automation and digitization projects, which contributed to increasing productivity. As a result, additional shipment volumes could be efficiently integrated into the existing processes.

Sustainability strategically anchored

Gebrüder Weiss has firmly anchored sustainability in its corporate strategy and has committed itself to science-based climate targets as part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In 2025, the climate strategy was further implemented: additional photovoltaic systems increased the installed capacity to 19.7 megawatts peak. The 15,000 megawatt hours of electricity generated correspond to around half of the global electricity demand of all locations.

In addition, the company put 14 more e-trucks into operation in Austria and expanded the charging infrastructure. With transparent CO₂ reporting and an accounting model for sustainable fuels ("Book & Claim"), Gebrüder Weiss enables its customers to allocate saved emissions to individual shipments and thus achieve their climate goals in a measurable way.

"The uncertainties in world trade will continue to accompany us in 2026. The recent escalation in the Middle East has further exacerbated the geopolitical situation and highlights how quickly global supply chains can come under pressure. Especially in this phase, stable transport networks and reliable partners are crucial. Gebrüder Weiss is financially very solid, has an international presence and invests specifically in technology and infrastructure. This will enable us to continue to support our customers in a challenging environment in the future," says Wolfram Senger-Weiss.
