Noerpel Group celebrates inauguration of forwarding terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen
- 10.000 square metre facility officially launched
- New building replaces previously used forwarding facility
- Investments in energy efficiency and sustainability
The Noerpel Group officially opened its new freight forwarding terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen with a summery celebration on Saturday, 24 June 2023. In the presence of Lord Mayor Jürgen Roth, Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, Managing Partner of the Noerpel Group, gave the formal go-ahead for the newly built facility. The Noerpel Group welcomed customers and business partners to the inauguration ceremony - around one hundred guests were present in Villingen-Schwenningen.

The 10,000 square metre freight forwarding terminal was built within a year on a 42,000 square metre site and offers the Noerpel team perfect working conditions: The lorries dock at 82 loading gates to deliver or pick up goods. The consignments are handled and prepared for dispatch in the 7,300 square metre hall. To ensure that the hall traffic runs quickly and smoothly, the transshipment hall has a particularly wide centre aisle. The Noerpel team uses more than 2,000 square metres as office space.
Ten years on site
The Noerpel Group has had a forwarding centre in Villingen-Schwenningen since 2013. With the modern new building, Noerpel is replacing the previous facility in the immediate vicinity, which no longer had sufficient capacity. "In our new terminal, we offer our customers high-quality forwarding and full-service services and I am delighted that we are celebrating this together today," said Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, Managing Partner of the Noerpel Group, at the opening of the facility. "A big thank you to everyone involved for their active support during the construction, relocation and successful start." Noerpel welcomed the Mayor of Villingen-Schwenningen, Jürgen Roth, as a guest of honour, who also addressed the visitors.
The guests had the opportunity to take a tour of the plant. The Noerpel team in Villingen-Schwenningen organises comprehensive transport solutions, particularly for companies in the electrical and automotive industries or mechanical engineering. "The supply chains of manufacturers and suppliers are sometimes very complex," explains branch manager Darko Ilic. "We support the companies with national and international transport services."
More sustainability
Acting sustainably is a key element of the Noerpel Group's corporate strategy. Among other things, the company promotes an environmentally conscious corporate culture through numerous measures. For example, Noerpel favours modern building technology and efficient energy solutions in all new construction projects. For example, the company invested in these sustainable features at the freight forwarding terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen:
- The property was built to BEG 40 standard and only requires 40 per cent of the energy consumed by a conventionally constructed reference building.
- A photovoltaic system on the hall roof generates a large proportion of the electricity required.
- The hall façade consists of recyclable metal cassette elements.
- The new building is heated with an energy-saving air-to-water heat pump.
- A measurement and control system networks the entire building technology, is customised to meet demand and is therefore energy-efficient.
- E-charging points for cars are installed on the site, and pre-fitting for e-trucks is planned.
