Unterhaltungsfernsehen Ehrenfeld opens second TV studio at SEGRO in Cologne
The production company Unterhaltungsfernsehen Ehrenfeld UE GmbH (UE GmbH) opened a second TV studio in "SEGRO Park Köln City" at the beginning of January, where programmes for public television will be produced. To this end, the company is expanding by 800 square metres to 3,500 square metres. the company relocated its headquarters to the site in 2022 and has been producing a TV show there ever since. In future, the new space will be used for recordings of the science programme "Scobel", which is produced for 3Sat, and for the ZDF cookery programme "Böhmi brutzelt".
Viewers of the programmes will experience the innovative technology park in Cologne Bickendorf. In particular, the good public transport connections make it easy for the team and guests of the shows to get to the park. The "SEGRO Park Köln City" is located in Vitalisstrasse on the former AkzoNobel site. The site offers connections to the S-Bahn and regional railway network. The district is also served by two underground lines, making the site very easy to reach by public transport. The district is also optimally connected to the motorway network via the A 1 and A 57.
The site is also characterised by its sustainability. For example, it has buildings with green roofs as well as beehives, insect hotels and nesting boxes to promote biodiversity. The site also has 16 charging stations for electric vehicles and a photovoltaic system is also being planned.
The site currently has a rental area of around 43,000 square metres, which will increase to 55,000 square metres once the latest expansion is complete. From the third quarter of 2023, further new commercial units of around 1,600 square metres from the last expansion phase of the site will be available on the site.
Users of the business park include Deutsche Post, Delicato Foodservice, TIER Mobility, Alvero Büromöbelvermietung, online retailer Kapten & Son, deinetorte.de, digital printing specialist Shirtee and 0221 Mediagroup.
"The fact that Unterhaltungsfernsehen Ehrenfeld UE decided in favour of this expansion so soon after moving in with us illustrates the flexibility of our space, where we can also react to subsequent changes in the existing building," says Simon Czerwinski, Associate Director Development Light Industrial at SEGRO.
