SEGRO leases 2,800 square metres at SEGRO Park Berlin Airport
SEGRO has let 2,800 square metres at SEGRO Park Berlin Airport to Quadriga Service GmbH and JFC Deutschland GmbH. The food wholesaler JFC, which specialises in the distribution of food from Japan and the rest of Asia, accounts for 2,240 square metres of this space. JFC is already an existing tenant in the park and will expand significantly. Quadriga is also renting 550 square metres - the company provides tradesman services in the areas of residential refurbishment and the fit-out of commercial and office units as well as customer service contracts.
All areas of the site have been awarded the DGNB Gold sustainability certificate. SEGRO is focussing on sustainability in a variety of ways. For example, wooden trusses were used instead of concrete beams, the roofs and some of the façades were greened and a sustainable greening concept was implemented for the outdoor areas. The buildings also feature energy-saving LED lighting, plenty of natural light and electric charging points. SEGRO is also planning to install a photovoltaic system with an output of around one megawatt peak.
"We are always particularly pleased when we can enable existing tenants like JFC to continue to grow directly at the site in an uncomplicated manner," says Christina Schultz, Associate Director Development Light Industrial at SEGRO.
