Prologis acquires logistics property in Worms from Union Investment
Prologis has acquired a logistics property with an area of around 32,177 square metres in Worms near Mannheim in Rhineland-Palatinate. The seller of the property is the German property investment company Union Investment. The property on the 63,672 square metre site is fully let and is used exclusively by Trans Service Team (TST) GmbH.
Ideal addition to the portfolio
"I am very pleased that we are adding this attractive property in a strategically good location to our portfolio and thus further driving our growth in Germany," says Björn Thiemann, Senior Vice President, Regional Head Northern Europe, Prologis. "As the building is already 15 years old, we are planning a series of refurbishment works in the coming years to bring it in line with our high sustainability standards."
Prologis intends to make the building more sustainable according to ESG criteria. In addition, empty conduits will be laid on the property to make it easier for users to install charging stations for electric vehicles. A special feature of the property is the long-term lease of the roof areas to the Evangelical Church Centre for the operation of a photovoltaic system.
Union Investment is also delighted with the deal. "The current market phase brings with it various property management challenges," says Stephan Riechers, Head of Investment Management Logistics at Union Investment. "The successful sale of this logistics property, which has been in our portfolio for many years, underlines the attractiveness and intrinsic value of the asset class."
The property is strategically located in a sought-after logistics location in the Rhine-Neckar region, an important driver of the German economy, with excellent connections to the Rhine-Main economic region.
