P3 Logistic Parks celebrates construction of the first pillar for the logistics park at JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven
Frankfurt am Main | 12 July 2023 - P3 Logistic Parks, a leading developer and long-term owner of logistics real estate in Europe, is starting construction work on the new P3 Park in the freight village at JadeWeserPort with the erection of the first pillar. With this project, the developer is sustainably strengthening the local infrastructure and further expanding its portfolio.
With a total area of around 140,000 square metres, the new P3 Park will offer modern and efficient logistics space at JadeWeserPort. JadeWeserPort is an important deep-water port in Europe and a central transhipment centre for international goods traffic. Thanks to its strategically favourable location, it offers companies an optimal connection to transport and logistics networks.

The gradual completion of the project is planned for the beginning of 2025. A special feature is that one of the halls fulfils special structural requirements to accommodate protected customs goods. P3 will also install larger gates for the transport of bulky goods. The halls themselves have a clear height of 12 metres, 17 ground-level gates and 111 dock levellers.
Sönke Kewitz, Managing Director of P3 Logistic Parks Germany, says: "Germany is no longer the world logistics champion. Most recently, Germany only came third in the Logistics Performance Index. In order to maintain and further improve Germany's position, it is crucial to increase the productivity of the ports and improve the punctuality and efficiency of customs and border controls. In this context, JadeWeserPort has established itself as an important hub for international trade and logistics thanks to its ideal geographical location, modern infrastructure and comprehensive range of services. We are very pleased that with the new P3 Park we are creating a modern and sustainable logistics area that offers companies optimal opportunities to benefit from the advantages of this important deep-water port."

The project is to be completed in stages by the beginning of 2025.
Andreas Bullwinkel, Managing Director of Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH & Co. KG, says: "We are delighted that this major and important project is now visibly progressing and would like to thank the P3 team for the trust they have placed in the JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven GVZ site."
Carsten Feist, Lord Mayor of the City of Wilhelmshaven, says: "An investment in JadeWeserPort is always an investment that strengthens Wilhelmshaven as a business location. The new logistics park will contribute to the economic development of our city and the region and create jobs for the people who live here - or want to live here."
The new logistics park will fulfil the highest standards in terms of sustainability. P3 consistently uses environmentally friendly technologies and materials to promote sustainable development and minimise environmental impact. One important measure is the installation of photovoltaic systems on all roofs on site. In addition, modern logistics facilities are provided to enable efficient and flexible storage and distribution solutions.
All hall roofs will be equipped with photovoltaic systems by P3.
JadeWeserPort benefits from excellent transport connections, including a direct link to the A29 motorway. This optimal connection enables goods traffic to arrive and depart smoothly. Another important step for JadeWeserPort was the entry of Hapag-Lloyd as a shareholder in EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven. This has further strengthened the port's position in international freight transport and significantly increased its importance.
The recent acquisition of the "Atlantic One" logistics centre also underlines P3's local commitment. Last May, P3 took over a property with a logistics area of over 13,000 square metres, which is already fully let to four companies. The warehouses are equipped with a digitalisation prototype that not only records gas, electricity and water consumption, but also has sensors that can measure air quality, humidity, temperature and floor pollution for each unit individually. The results can be transmitted in real time.
