The goods are already flowing through the transshipment halls, the refrigerated halls are filled with sausage products, cheese, juices and much more: Nagel-Group's new central logistics centre in Denmark is running at full speed. The opening of the new food logistics centre in Vejle has now been celebrated. Around 120 customers and partners attended the celebrations and toured the state-of-the-art facility.
"Denmark is one of our focus markets. With our new sites in Vejle and Ringsted, as well as our branches in Padborg and Struer, we are now very well positioned. In addition, the Danish locations are now fully integrated into our European network," said Carsten Taucke at the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
On 16,500 square metres of logistics space, the Nagel-Group will be working for its customers in the food industry and offers 19,000 pallet spaces for the storage of frozen and fresh products. The facility also has a cross-dock with 46 gates to ensure efficient goods handling. The building also offers modern office space.
"Nagel-Group has been active in Denmark for more than 20 years. Our mission is to make our customers' goods available in Denmark and throughout Europe on a daily basis, and our own aspiration is to achieve this in the best quality," said Marion Nagel, Chairwoman of the Nagel-Group Board of Directors. And addressing the Managing Director Denmark, she added: "I wish you, dear Jens Henrik Olesen, every success in this new, wonderful location and a successful and bright future for your team."
Construction work on the logistics hall began in October 2021 and went according to plan. The new logistics facility was ready for occupation at the end of March 2023. The logistics complex on Europastrasse E45 was built by property investor M+ Ejendomme. The new building was constructed in accordance with the highest standards for sustainable construction. The company is actively involved in the Climate Partnership North to achieve climate neutrality in the municipality of Vejle by 2050.
"We are proud to have completed this important step and to be able to expand our capacity for our customers," said Jens Henrik Olesen, Managing Director Nordics at Nagel-Group.
