Nagel-Group: New multi-temp facility in Schweitenkirchen goes into operation

From frozen to fresh: Nagel-Group commissions multi-temp logistics centre for the greater Munich area

Schweitenkirchen, 19 July 2024: More storage capacity for all temperature ranges in the greater Munich area: Nagel-Group has expanded its Schweitenkirchen logistics centre into a multi-temp facility. New deep-freeze warehouses with a capacity of 13,200 pallet spaces were put into operation after a construction period of one and a half years. Nagel-Group has invested 40 million euros in the further development of the logistics centre, located around 40 kilometres north of the state capital, into a multi-temp facility.

"The logistics centre in Schweitenkirchen is of enormous importance to Nagel-Group for southern Germany and the connection to and from Austria," said Marion Nagel, Chairwoman of the Nagel-Group Board of Directors. At the opening ceremony, which was attended by customers, construction partners, employees and their families, Marion Nagel said: "However, we at Nagel-Group are not just investing in Schweitenkirchen, but in the entire Group. We are building new sites, creating modern workplaces and making the company more digital, sustainable and fit for the future." The investment is part of a large-scale modernisation project in the company's site infrastructure.

"With the expansion in Schweitenkirchen, we have further increased our storage capacity. We can offer our customers logistics solutions in all temperature ranges and enable growth potential," said Jens Kleiner, Chief Operating Officer at Nagel-Group. "The modern facilities in Schweitenkirchen and Nuremberg, which went into operation this year, strengthen our Nagel-Group network."

Nagel-Group has been operating in the Schweitenkirchen industrial estate since 2016 in the fresh and dry sector, with 20,000 square metres of logistics and handling space. By expanding into a multi-temp facility, Nagel-Group can now offer its full service portfolio of storage, handling and transport as well as value-added services in all temperature ranges.
