MLP Business Park Vienna: Ground-breaking ceremony for the MLP Group's first project in Austria

On 23 May 2024, the MLP Group celebrated the start of construction work at the MLP Business Park Vienna. The celebrations were attended by Karl Gasta, Deputy Mayor of Vienna's 22nd district, as well as representatives of the general contractor Goldbeck Rhomberg and the MLP Group. Completion of the innovative city logistics property is scheduled for early 2025.

The MLP Group, a developer, owner and manager of high-quality commercial, industrial and logistics parks specialising in brownfield sites, celebrated the start of construction work at the MLP Business Park Vienna with a ground-breaking ceremony on 23 May 2024. Guests included representatives from the general contractor Goldbeck Rhomberg and the MLP Group as well as Karl Gasta, deputy head of the 22nd district of Vienna. The new business park is the developer's first project in Austria. Once completed, it will have four buildings with a total usable area of around 53,600 m². With flexibly divisible units from a size of approx. 3,100 m², the MLP Business Park Vienna is ideally suited for the settlement of potential users from the city logistics, e-commerce and light industrial sectors. ODÖRFER Haustechnik KG, a GC Group Austria company, is already a confirmed tenant.

The business park is being built on a brownfield site of around 100,000 m² in the north-east of Vienna and has an excellent location just 13 km from the city centre. The S2/A23 motorway, Vienna-Schwechat Airport and public transport are also within easy reach. With the development of this modern city logistics property, the MLP Group is responding to the continuing high demand for commercial and logistics space in urban locations.

The entire new building is being constructed using state-of-the-art technology and in line with the MLP Group's sustainability strategy. In addition to replacement planting, green roofs, the installation of a photovoltaic system for sustainable and ecological management and e-charging points, the developer is planning a recreational zone with a pond as well as shrubs, nesting boxes and piles to create an ecological balance and promote the protection of species. The aim is also to achieve at least ÖGNI Gold certification.

Karl Gasta, Deputy Mayor of Vienna's 22nd district, commented on the ground-breaking ceremony as follows: "The 22nd district of Vienna congratulates the MLP Group on an excellent choice of location for its first project in Austria. With Donaustadt, the developer has opted for the largest and one of the most beautiful districts in Vienna. For a long time, the former industrial site of the US oil company ExxonMobil in the immediate vicinity of the city centre lay derelict. Now, the extensive redevelopment and revitalisation of the site is creating sought-after new commercial space in an urban location without further soil sealing. The district very much welcomes this."
