Logistics specialist Mader wins another contract for cleaned empties from medical technology at Nuremberg site
- Circular economy continues to gain ground
Ansbach/Nuremberg, 22 February 2024 - Logistics specialist Mader (headquartered in Ansbach) has acquired another customer for the circular economy of load carriers. A well-known manufacturer from the medical technology sector has placed an order with the Mader Group for the provision, including cleaning, of reusable containers. The new contract will be realised at Mader's long-standing Nuremberg site.
The Mader Group has specialised in empties management since the end of the 1980s and today provides the entire orderly process of cleaning load carriers for production companies at its four sites in Ansbach, Nuremberg, Heidelberg and Heimerdingen near Stuttgart.
As part of the new medical technology contract, Mader collects the load carriers (LT) and trays (inserts in the empty carriers), inspects them with regard to the quality specifications for the next cycle and cleans them to the highest standards on Mader's modern industrial cleaning systems. The LT and trays are managed by Mader's system and are called up as required by an (E)-Kanban system, which electronically controls the actual consumption of the LT and trays. The contract also includes sorting, picking, storage and packaging as well as delivery to the production line as required.
"Short transport routes and the rapid availability of clean reusable packaging are part of the supply chain. The increase in round-trip transport in the medical technology sector also reduces CO2 consumption, conserves resources and avoids waste. Our efficient empties management ensures that the containers are available again quickly and in sufficient quantities. In addition, the small load carriers and trays remain usable for longer if they are well supplied. We are very pleased about the new life cycle contract from the medical technology sector," reports Herbert Schmidt, authorised signatory of the Mader Group.
