As a Europe-wide day of action, Logistics Day has always been supported by numerous organisers and well-known partners from Germany's third-largest economic sector. This year, the global online mail order company Amazon, the Port of Trier and VDO, a brand of the global technology company and leading automotive supplier Continental, are involved with a premium partnership. Together with the more than 80 events already registered, they want to draw attention to the efficiency and diversity of the logistics sector on the day of action.

"Amazon has been involved in Logistics Day with its own events for many years because this economic sector and the people in it deserve this attention," explains Andreas Marschner, Vice President Amazon Transportation Service. "Logistics Day opens our eyes to all the exciting people, careers and technologies that are irreplaceable in our everyday lives."

The active participation of company representatives from the premium partners in the Logistics Lunch, the central event format of the Logistics Day, is planned. The Logistics Lunch will take place at the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt am Main and can be followed live on the internet. With this event, which was established last year, a format was created that presents and discusses current developments in logistics in panel discussions and one-to-one talks and allows interested members of the public to participate - with a low-threshold online broadcast.

"For Logistics Day, a highly professional and decentralised event is being organised to showcase an industry that deserves a much better standing in society," adds Patrick Schenk, Head of Fleet Solutions and Sales Service Sales in the Connected Commercial Vehicle Solutions business segment at Continental. "As experts for compliance in road transport and suppliers of transport logistics, we are therefore very happy to accompany the Logistics Day with our VDO Fleet brand and are proud to be part of the logistics family."

In addition to the premium partners, Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs (BMDV) and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics, has been won over as patron.

"I think it's great that every year on Logistics Day, over a hundred companies open their doors to school classes and interested citizens and show what is behind one of the largest economic sectors in Germany. In this way, we learn about the complex processes that influence our everyday lives on a daily basis and literally move our country. Logistics Day also offers the opportunity to gain an insight into the exciting professional world of logistics. Take the opportunity and take a look behind the scenes of the logistics industry," appeals Oliver Luksic.

"We are delighted to welcome Oliver Luksic to Trier this year for the 'Port Internship' on Logistics Day," commented Volker Klassen, Managing Director of the Port of Trier. "The numerous visitors who have already registered can also expect exciting insights into the daily activities at the port, which has established itself as an important logistics location for the greater Trier, Eifel, Hunsrück, Saarland and Luxembourg region and ensures the supply of around 1 million people."

As in the previous year, the BVL - Bundesvereinigung Logistik, the German Association of Towns and Municipalities and the industry initiatives "Die Wirtschaftsmacher" and Logix Initiative Logistikimmobilien are the conceptual partners of the action day. A new addition is the leading trade fair transport logistic, which takes place in Munich from 9 to 12 May.

Companies, universities, associations and research institutions can register as organisers on the central website www.tag-der-logistik.de and register their events for Logistics Day 2023 free of charge.

This also includes the digitalisation of numerous processes and the implementation of new technologies. On Logistics Day, Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMDV, will complete a "port internship" in Trier. In addition, the Port of Trier is planning a varied programme on the day of action to give all interested parties an understanding of the logistics processes in the port and the sustainable importance of inland ports as logistics hubs.

About the Logistics Day

Logistics Day takes place annually on the third Thursday in April and was initiated by the BVL in 2008. Since autumn 2021, the two agencies specialising in logistics communication, mainblick GmbH, Frankfurt, and teamtosse GmbH, Munich, have been responsible for organising the nationwide day of action. BVL and the "Die Wirtschaftsmacher" initiative support the campaign day as conceptual partners. It is also possible to become a paying premium partner. In this way, companies and organisations support the continuation of a uniformly communicated Day of Logistics throughout Germany. Premium partners also receive exclusive communication measures for their events on Logistics Day.

The website www.tag-der-logistik.de and the linked social media channels act as central communication channels for the general public. The participating companies enter their events and other information there themselves free of charge. Participation in the events is also free of charge.

Logistics Day thus offers opportunities for everyone - companies ensure greater acceptance in the neighbourhood, media and politics, strengthen customer and employee contacts and can address potential new employees. Participants gain interesting insights into logistics processes and the diverse functions and processes that they trigger in their daily lives through their purchasing and consumer behaviour. They will also see the wide range of career opportunities available in logistics, from highly qualified people, such as IT specialists, to career starters and unskilled workers.
