Kube & Kubenz increases storage capacity for tank containers in western Germany - 120 new storage spaces in Bergheim (NRW) for hazardous goods logistics
Hamburg, 17 April 2023 - Producers and distributors in the Rhineland chemical region have had more storage capacity for filled tank containers since the spring of this year: Kube & Kubenz, a tank haulage company operating throughout Europe, has recently expanded the storage space at its Bergheim (NRW) branch for this business. The site, which has been located east of Cologne since 2015, was also upgraded in terms of safety. As part of the investment, 120 new storage spaces for filled tank containers of hazardous substance classes 3, 8 and 9 have been created. At the conveniently located site, 25 Kube & Kubenz employees organise multimodal transport and storage services for resilient supply chains in the chemical industry.

The site, designed to the highest safety standards and located in the immediate vicinity of the 61 federal motorway, serves as a transshipment hub, supplying the industry in one of the largest chemical regions in the European single market from all over the world. The existing storage capacities for non-classified goods are available to Kube & Kubenz customers in Bergheim as usual. The portfolio in Bergheim also includes 250 storage spaces for empty tank containers and 40 tractor units.
"The expansion of the site makes us more attractive for our chemical customers because the secure tank containers, which are monitored around the clock, make logistics chains more efficient and shorten them. At the same time, this investment will secure jobs at the site in the long term," says Olaf Fügemann, Branch Manager of Kube & Kubenz in Bergheim.
"Together with the storage areas in Worms in Rhineland-Palatinate, our first storage location for tank containers, we are now even better equipped to meet the needs of our customers in the chemical industry. With the expansion and modernisation of the Bergheim branch, the requirements of hazardous materials logistics can be optimally combined with our own growth targets in the coming years," emphasises Konstantin Kubenz, Managing Partner of Kube & Kubenz.
