Krage & Gerloff Logistik becomes part of the Geis Group
The Geis Group, one of the leading logistics service providers in Central and Eastern Europe, will acquire all shares in Krage & Gerloff Logistik GmbH, headquartered in Schwanebeck, including the associated real estate companies and the location in Magdeburg, as of 1 January 2027. Geis is thus expanding its network in Germany and strengthening its position in the IDS Logistik general cargo network.
The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

With the acquisition of one of the leading logistics providers in Saxony-Anhalt, the Geis Group is strategically developing its road network in Germany. After Krüger, the Gras Group and agotrans, Geis is thus successfully continuing its growth course.
Krage & Gerloff employs around 430 people at its two locations in Schwanebeck and Magdeburg and generated sales of around 63 million euros in 2025. Founded in 1995, the company offers national and international general cargo transport, partial and full loads, branch logistics as well as forwarding-related logistics and warehousing solutions on around 90,000 square meters of handling and logistics space. In addition to the IDS network, Krage & Gerloff also works with the CTL and ONLINE Systemlogistik cooperations.
Long-standing connection and common attitude
The two family-run companies are linked by a long-standing and trusting cooperation in the IDS network.
"Krage & Gerloff is an excellent strategic fit for us and ideally complements our service portfolio in the field of road services," explain Jochen Geis and Hans-Wolfgang Geis, managing partners of the Geis Group. "We
have known the company and the entrepreneurial family behind it for many years. We are united by a common understanding of long-term thinking, reliability, responsibility and a cooperative approach to employees and customers. We are all the more pleased about the trust they have placed in us with their decision."
As part of the Geis Group, Krage & Gerloff will gain access to an international network, additional capacities and a broader range of services. These include additional contract logistics solutions and worldwide air and sea freight services. This will create new opportunities to further develop the existing business and tap into additional potential in the region.

Continuity and strong prospects
Sebastian Gerloff will remain Managing Director and will continue to lead the company together with his team and the management of the Geis Group in the future.
For him, the change of ownership is a deliberately chosen step from a strong position: "Krage & Gerloff is successful and well positioned. At the same time, I am convinced that with a strong group of companies behind us, we are well equipped for the challenges of the coming years and will continue to be a reliable partner for our customers in the future," says Gerloff. "I am highly motivated to continue to lead Krage & Gerloff under the umbrella of the Geis Group. With my son, the next generation is already working in the company. Together with our employees, we want to take advantage of the new opportunities and successfully develop Krage & Gerloff as part of the Geis Group in the long term."
In the future, customers will benefit from the opportunities offered by an international group of companies with around 10,000 employees in 14 countries. At the same time, what makes Krage & Gerloff special will be retained: the existing teams, a strong hands-on mentality, local leadership, a strong in-house fleet and personal cooperation with customers and partners.
Expansion of the position in the IDS network
With this acquisition, the Geis Group is once again strengthening its position in Germany's largest general cargo cooperation, IDS Logistik. The IDS area of Krage & Gerloff borders directly on existing Geis areas and thus represents an ideal extension of the network. In the future, the Geis Group will serve 13 of the total of 53 IDS depot areas.
