Gruber Logistics continues internationalisation with branch in France
The South Tyrolean logistics company Gruber Logistics is successfully continuing its expansion course with the opening of its first own national representation in France. The branch in Lyon marks a new milestone in the company's internationalisation strategy. Just over a year ago, Gruber Logistics had already taken over the heavy haulage specialist Universal Transport, thereby significantly expanding its presence on the German market. Partly for this development, Gruber Logistics has now been named "Logistician of the Year" by the Italian logistics association Assologistica.
Gruber Logistics has been active in France for more than 15 years. With its own branch in France, the company is expanding its customer relationships and its range of logistics services in the region. The portfolio of the branch in Lyon includes the provision of a wide range of logistics solutions, whereby the initial focus will be on full truck loads (FTL) as well as heavy and special transports (XTL).
Internationalisation worth the price
Gruber Logistics' efforts to achieve international growth have now also earned it an award from the Italian Assologistica. Martin Gruber, CEO of Gruber Logistics, accepted the award for "Logistician of the Year" in the category "Innovative commitment to the internationalisation of companies" at an award ceremony in the Pirelli skyscraper in Milan on 23 November.
A decisive factor in the decision was the strategic acquisition of the heavy transport logistics company Universal Transport at the end of 2022, which enabled Gruber Logistics to expand its network to 60 branches in 14 countries and its fleet to 2350 transport units, including 850 vehicles and 1500 trailers.
At the award ceremony, Martin Gruber thanked everyone who had contributed to the successful internationalisation of the company and the smooth integration of Universal Transport into Gruber Logistics - especially the management and team at Universal Transport. He emphasised: "It was clear to us that this was an important step in our internationalisation process, but not the end of our efforts. With the opening of the branch in France, we are once again confirming that we want to and will continue to grow internationally."
