CTP, Europe's largest listed owner, developer and manager of logistics and industrial real estate, celebrated the start of construction of the built-to-suit production facility for Quanta together with Quanta Computer, a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of computers and electronic hardware, on 30 October 2024. The ground-breaking ceremony took place at the CTP property in Jülich as part of the Brainergy Park Jülich, North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition to project managers from Quanta and CTP, representatives of Brainergy Park Jülich, the city of Jülich, the business development organisation and national politicians were also present. A total of over 50 guests attended the event.
CTP is developing a future-oriented property with a total usable area of 22,500 square metres for the manufacturer. The developer is realising property requirements specifically tailored to Quanta, including a product test laboratory and customised airlock rooms. With the new location, Quanta is further expanding its global presence for customers in Europe. The company is one of the Fortune Global 500 and achieved a turnover of around 35 billion US dollars in the 2023 financial year. Quanta is leasing the new property from CTP in Jülich for 15 years. CTP is investing a total of 45 million euros in the development of the project.
"With the start of construction, we have taken an important step towards building realisation in almost record time. We would like to emphasise the consistently trusting and solution-oriented cooperation between the authorities, politicians, Quanta Computer and CTP, which made the prompt start of construction possible in the first place," says Timo Hielscher, Managing Director M&A at CTP Germany. "Due to our presence in Asia and our long-term customer relationships with Asian companies, we have a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of these companies. Our expertise and our Europe-wide land bank enable us to quickly realise the relocation projects of Asian clients in Europe. This also includes sophisticated space concepts for high-tech companies, which we can solve in a straightforward manner. We are very pleased about the trust placed in us and would like to thank everyone involved for their cooperation."
The CTP property in Jülich is located close to the German borders with Belgium and the Netherlands and is easily accessible via the motorways from the major European cities of Frankfurt, Brussels and Amsterdam. In realising the project, CTP is aiming for DGNB Gold certification and is equipping the entire roof of the building with photovoltaic (PV) systems.
"Quanta Computer's decision to settle in Jülich with up to 500 jobs in the first stage confirms the attractiveness and potential of Brainergy Park Jülich for international high-tech companies. We are proud to be working with CTP to create a forward-looking environment for growth and innovation," comments Frank Drewes, Managing Director of Brainergy Park Jülich GmbH.
Construction work is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025.
