FUSION COLOGNE industrial and logistics quarter wins Panattoni for the first construction phase

The new Panattoni Campus Cologne will combine the commercial, light industrial and logistics park asset classes on two floors. To this end, Germany's most active developer is building on a brownfield site of around 57,900 m² on the FUSION COLOGNE site. The HGK Group's visionary project is contributing to the sustainable development of the harbour areas in the Cologne-Niehl district.

From 2026, companies from the logistics, industrial, production and commercial sectors will be able to move into 45,000 m² of usable space in Panattoni's multi-level property. The space can be rented flexibly. Together with FUSION COLOGNE, Panattoni is also focussing on sustainable development. A local heating connection using waste heat from a neighbouring waste sorting plant is planned to ensure a low-CO2 heat supply. In addition, 40 per cent of the façade surfaces will be greened, fossil-free energy will be generated by installing photovoltaic systems on the roofs and particularly high-quality leisure areas will be created for the company's employees.

The Panattoni Campus Cologne is part of the integrated production and logistics quarter FUSION COLOGNE, which covers an area of around 550,000 m². Interdisciplinary networking is to be promoted and bundled at this future location. The companies should not only benefit from the sustainable technological equipment of the quarter, but also from the expertise of the other resident companies.

At the same time, the location of FUSION COLOGNE in the north of Cologne offers the best conditions for the resource-saving optimisation of transport routes and handling processes. In the centre of Germany's third-largest industrial region, the site is optimally connected to all goods transport routes: The Rhine ports of Niehl 1 and 2 and the motorway junction in the north of Cologne are right on the doorstep, as is an efficient transhipment terminal for rail transport. This enables trimodal, resilient and environmentally friendly management of the growing flow of goods.

With this project, the owner Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG (HGK) is strengthening the nearby Niehl harbour as one of the most important logistics hubs in North Rhine-Westphalia and for the Cologne metropolis.
