Enpal will rely on ID Logistics and its innovative logistics solutions in Philippsburg in future - ID Logistics ensures Enpal's speed in the market penetration of solar systems

The international contract logistics provider ID Logistics has set up a 35,000 m² distribution centre in Philippsburg for the rapidly expanding Berlin-based solar system unicorn Enpal within eight weeks of the initial contact. ID Logistics will employ around 70 people when the centre opens in the coming days.

The long-term contract between Enpal and ID Logistics covers the receipt of goods from abroad, the picking of solar panels, storage units and inverters, the management of transport and the delivery of product sets to local end customers. These include both private households and large construction sites for commercial installations for companies.

To date, Enpal has 40,000 customers in Germany and is currently installing around 3,000 additional solar systems per month. By the end of the decade, Enpal aims to supply one million households and numerous companies with green energy. According to the company, turnover quadrupled to more than 400 million euros last year alone.

"To make green energy simple, affordable and accessible to every household, we need agile, flexible and fast partners with proven experience in successfully handling fast logistics processes. ID Logistics has been an expert in supply chain management for over 20 years and is therefore exactly the right partner to support our enormous growth with stable logistics chains and secure processes," comments Henning Rath, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Enpal.

"Enpal and ID Logistics have the same spirit of expansion, our teams complement each other and speak the same language," explains Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany. "We will support Enpal in its enormous growth with a comprehensive package of innovative contract services and link this expertise holistically with transport services."

"With the logistics and transport contract customised for Enpal, we are expanding our industry spectrum in expanding markets to include renewable energies. As part of our growth strategy, we are also adding Philippsburg, a new location in southern Germany with up to 150 employees at peak times, to our map," says Detlef Kurzbuch, Commercial Director Germany and responsible for business development.

As an important part of the supply chain, the ID Logistics Group manages major transport transactions for its international customers worldwide via freight forwarders and courier service providers. ID Logistics also operates Colisweb, a platform for last-mile deliveries. The contact person in Germany for transport organisation and management is Matthias Schadler, Director Transportation and Supply Chain Management at ID Logistics Germany, who has almost 35 years of sales and operational management experience.

Enpal receives strategic support from Metroplan, one of the leading technical consulting and planning companies.

"Our collaboration with Enpal is characterised by extraordinary dynamism and partnership. All core elements of our portfolio and experience are required, from strategic consulting to conceptual design, tendering and realisation management. We are confident that in ID Logistics we have found the ideal logistics partner and the best possible logistics solution to support Enpal's growth," explains Dr Thomas Mielke, Managing Director of Metroplan.
