DB Schenker celebrates the opening of the Brinckmansdorf site in the Rostock Logistics Park
Sustainable new building with DGNB certification - Strategically favourable location on the A19 motorway right next to Rostock's international port - New attractive workplaces
Frankfurt am Main / Brinckmansdorf, 7 September 2023 - DB Schenker is opening one of the largest and most modern logistics sites in the region at Logistik-Park-Rostock. The logistics service provider is thus significantly expanding its offering for customers in the heart of north-east Germany and creating at least 25 new jobs by the end of 2023 alone. The new terminal in Brinckmansdorf offers efficient storage and handling capacities on a hall area of 20,000 m² in an attractive location in terms of transport links. At the same time, customers will benefit from simplified and faster logistics processes by combining storage, handling, sea freight and land transport at one location.
On 7 September 2023, the new location was officially opened with more than 100 guests and representatives from politics and business.
Gunnar Scholtz, Head of DB Schenker's Rostock and Güstrow offices: "With major investments in efficient and sustainable logistics, we are and will remain an attractive and reliable partner for our customers in the economically important Rostock region. By expanding our storage and handling capacities, we are creating jobs in the region and optimising the conditions for further growth for our customers."
Renewable energies
A photovoltaic system on the roof of the terminal generates energy for the site, and there are also seven charging points for electric cars and two charging points for e-bikes on the site. Certification in accordance with the DGNB Gold Standard for sustainable construction is being sought for the logistics centre. DB Schenker is thus demonstrating the importance of climate protection and sustainability at the new Brinckmansdorf site.
