LogCoop GmbH - Focus on success
A logistics network you can build on
The LogCoop logistics network was founded in May 2013. The co-operation now consists of 30 freight forwarders. An important point for LogCoop is the networking of its members. One of the ways in which members work together is to "give something away". For example, Guckuk Logistik GmbH & Co KG was unable to fulfil a large order for the storage of various textiles and passed it on to Sievert Handel Transporte GmbH. Similar examples can be found regularly in the network. The passing on of loads and tenders also works. A code of conduct was drawn up in order to ensure that the co-operation is success-oriented and ethical.

As you would expect in a co-operation, LogCoop GmbH also bundles volumes in the area of purchasing. However, in addition to traditional products such as office supplies or AdBlue, other framework agreements are also being created. Here, the cooperation is increasingly focussing on communicating innovations to the freight forwarders. These innovations are discussed at regular events. In addition to the biannual general meeting, working groups are also held on the topics of purchasing, transport, technology and marketing sales. The participation of the members is desired here, as external control should be avoided in the network. Everyone is encouraged to participate. This will result in new proposals for framework agreements with suppliers and new ideas that will be implemented in LogCoop in the long term.
The plan for 2015 is to organise the activities on a sector-specific basis. This will allow the individual freight forwarders to become better integrated and sales activities to be coordinated more effectively. For example, targeted trade fair visits are being planned. A breakdown into the following sectors is currently planned:
- Hazardous goods/hazardous substances
- Food/beverages
- Construction/building materials
- Heavy/bulky/long/
- Fragile (SSLF)
- International transport and contract logistics
- E-commerce
Industry days are planned for the respective topics. Speakers from the respective branches of industry will be invited. Non-members are also welcome to attend the events.
Seminars will also be offered in the coming year. The programme includes events on minimum wage, customs clearance and business management.
In keeping with the LogCoop motto "co-operation instead of competition", there will be long-term cooperation with the "KoLoS" network. Joint activities are planned on topics such as certification, load exchange, recruitment and warehouse marketing. The two co-operations will have a total of 5,000 vehicles at their disposal. This will create a certain amount of market power, which may enable the medium-sized haulage companies to hold their own against the "big players". There are currently no plans to merge the two logistics networks.
