CINRAM offers new customers proven service

Cinram is a service provider on the way to full service logistics. Suitable as a European Distribution Centre and Region Distribution Centre, Cinram offers a comprehensive service portfolio with its own print shop.

Freshly pressed and quickly delivered to the customer. CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays have this requirement in common with fruit juice, for example. CINRAM GmbH, with its Alsdorf site, has been a proven production and distribution partner for well-known studios for over 30 years. Current customers include Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Warner Music, Warner Home Video, Paramount and Sony Pictures. Although the discs can be stored better than fresh juice, they still don't have much time for transport: customers often expect overnight delivery. CINRAM's distribution network therefore offers maximum flexibility and speed. Added to this is its central location in the Euregio, which enables it to reach almost 80 per cent of consumers in Europe within 24 or 48 hours. Together with its service strength, the Alsdorf-based company offers an attractive portfolio of distribution expertise, which CINRAM is now also offering to new customers as a full-service logistics partner.

Unrivalled logistics offering

"The breadth and depth of what CINRAM offers in the field of logistics is unrivalled, even by the big names in the logistics industry," says Michael Schweinsberg with conviction. He has been responsible for the expansion of Contract Logistics at CINRAM GmbH since March 2014.

At his new workplace, the expert has found modern strategies in order picking. These include 'pick-by-light', two-stage picking and 'man to goods', for example. Item management according to FiFo, LiFo and other procedures is just as obligatory as the systemic support of batch and serial number management. A comprehensive range of services such as software refuelling and functional tests are also available.

This portfolio is complemented by the in-house printing plant. Here, services in the areas of artwork, packaging engineering, creation of print components and materials for the POS can be utilised. The manual packaging department also offers the option of creating sets or bundles and combining them to create new products.

"Excellent" service

CINRAM's experienced logistics and customer service round off the offering. Together with its customers, CINRAM has been honoured by Amazon with the "Golden Palette" award for the last three years in a row. The online department stores' awards this logistics prize once a year for outstanding operational performance. CINRAM also took first place as a service provider in the 2013 Provider of the Year awards organised by G+J Entertainment Media.

"The conditions for successfully establishing CINRAM as a full-service logistics provider are very good," summarises Managing Director Dieter Lubberich. "Our portfolio of logistics services goes far beyond pure warehouse logistics. Planning of replenishment and automatic orders, spare parts management and technical function tests are areas that are covered by CINRAM. We also offer assembling and packaging as well as 'extended workbench' services."

Real added value

CINRAM is suitable as both a European Distribution Centre (EDC) and a Region Distribution Centre (RDC). As the award from Amazon shows, the company already operates the operational logistics for customers who generate their sales via the internet. "We want to strengthen our presence in this market in particular, where high growth rates are predicted for the future," emphasises Michael Schweinsberg.
